Canadians mail service could be disrupted by the end of September. Canada Post and the (CUPW) Canadian Union of Postal Workers are far apart on a new contract.
A strike or lockout would not be legal until Sept. 26th, several utility companies warn their customers their bills may not be delivered on time. The cooling off period is in effect until September 26th, then CUPW can legally go on strike.

Mike Palecek, National President of CUPW said “If we have not reached agreements by September 26, 2018, we will have to be ready for some type of job action”
In late August, postal workers overwhelmingly voted to support good jobs and better services for all.

The provisional result of the vote is: Urban Operations unit: 93.8% YES
Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers unit: 95.9% YES
