2020-4547 – On December 30th 2020 at 09:55 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a multi-family gathering in the Higgins Lake Road area near Deka Lake BC. The complainant reported over 12 people at an address with people of different ages. Police are still investigating.
New Year’s Eve was fairly peaceful this year in the greater 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment area, with only a handful of calls received and patrols made by the members on shift. No files of significance were noted.
2021-07 – On January 2nd 2021 at 11:32 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 6400 block of Mercer Road in 100 Mile House BC. The child’s bike was white in colour and had blue rims. It had been taken some time over the previous few days. There was no serial number, make or model available. Hopefully someone sees this and returns the bike. The investigation is concluded pending further information.
2021-08 – On January 2nd 2021 at 11:42 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP received two reports of a public demonstration along Birch Avenue in 100 Mile House BC. The complainant observed 25-30 people not wearing masks and protesting current provincial health guidelines. As Police were busy elsewhere, by the time they arrived on scene the protest was over. The investigation is concluded at this time pending more information coming forward regarding the participants or organizers of the event.
2021-09 – On January 2nd 2021 at 11:46 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a shed on a property in the 7500 block of Magnussen Road in Roe Lake BC. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) had entered the shed on the property over the past month and stolen tools. There were no suspects or witnesses. The complainant would be installing video cameras. The file is still under investigation.
2021-21 – On January 3rd 2021 at 11:25 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a large gathering at a facility in the 5400 block of Tatton Station Road in 105 Mile House BC. The witnesses reported 20-30 vehicles in the parking lot. Police attended and collected evidence related to an offence under the Covid-19 Related Measures Act. This investigation is ongoing.
2021-34 – On January 4th 2021 at 08:30 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of fraud which occurred with a local business in the 100 Mile House area. An employee at the business had been doing account reconciliation and was contacting clients after what they felt were clients having not yet paid their accounts past due. It turned out that an unknown person(s) had contacted their clients under a pseudo email very similar to the business and had their account transfers paid into another account after stating the company’s banking had been updated and a new account with a different bank was being used. This resulted in losses of over $80,000 Cdn funds to the businesses involved. It is unknown where this offence occurred from at this time. Media release completed for awareness to other businesses in the local area.
2021-102 – On January 8th 2021 starting a 9:30 PM, 100 Mile House RCMP completed a road block along Hwy 24 in Lone Butte BC. Roadblocks were completed in significant numbers over the past two weeks. This particular road check yielded two warnings an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. Over 30 cars were checked during the road stop. The investigation is concluded.
2021-109 – On January 9th 2021, 100 Mile House RCMP attended to a report of a anti-mask protest organizing near First Street and Birch Avenue in 100 Mile House BC. Police attended and were prepared to issue violation tickets in to the gathering under the Emergency Protective Measures (COVID-19) Order, but the small crowd of 5-6 people dispersed as Police arrived. The investigation is concluded.
100 Mile House RCMP have received a number of other reports concerning violations under the Public Health Orders currently being enforced in our province as well as quarantine violations in our local area, usually daily. These are reported by anyone and your local detachment will investigate these alleged violations in order to support public safety in our area. 100 Mile House RCMP reminds the public that anyone issued a provincial violation ticket under this or other provincial legislation, has a right to dispute the offence in provincial court through the normal dispute process.
