On May 6th at 4:35 PM, 100 Mile House RCMP-GRC along with 100 Mile Fire and BC Ambulance attended to a reported pedestrian MVI at the intersection of First Street and Birch Avenue in 100 Mile House BC. This is a four way intersection with two pedestrian crossing areas.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing a 25 year old female struck at slow speed by a vehicle. Witnesses reported the vehicle fully stopped at the intersection and then proceeding to turn left onto First Street from Birch Avenue where the vehicle struck the pedestrian who was walking in the cross walk. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and has been fully cooperative with the investigation. Several local hospital personnel were in the area at the time of the incident and responded to the incident, which was of great assistance to the pedestrian. The injured female was taken to 100 Mile Hospital as a precaution for possible unknown injuries. Her family is aware of her present condition and location.
The intersection has been cleared. This matter is still being investigated by your local RCMP.
