Christmas has come early for the South Cariboo Health Foundation this year, thanks to the 100 Mile Lions Club and our amazing community.
After the most successful 100 Mile House Lions Dinner Auction to date, the lions gifted a $10,000 check to the SC Health Foundation at the 100 Mile District Hospital on Thursday November 14th. The Starry Nights Fundraiser put on by the (SCHF) every year is looking to raise $21,000 to purchase much needed equipment for the Urology department at the hospital.
Diane Collens Treasurer for the 100 Mile Lions said, “The South Cariboo community has stepped up as they always do to help out and the success of the recent Lions dinner/auction has made the $10,000 donation possible and we’re so pleased to be able to present the South Cariboo Health Foundation with the check today.”
These funds will bring the Starry Nights Fundraiser halfway to it’s goal this year. 100 Mile Lions President Val Clement, “It’s important that the hospital stays updated and provide services that people would otherwise have to travel out of the area to get. We’re very proud to say that all the funds we raise stays right here in the South Cariboo.”
You can be a “Health Star” and support the South Cariboo Health Foundation by donating $50 or more to the (SCHF).
