Every year on Oct 26th the Tsilhqot’in people of the Chilcotin gather for the Lhatsas?in Memorial to celebrate the lives of the Tsilhqot’in chiefs that were executed under crown authority at Quesnellemouth on October 26th, 1864.
These pictures were taken today at Puntzi Creek, the heart of the Chilcotin by Martina J William. The Tsilhqot’in Chiefs were hung in Quesnel and each year the celebration is held in different areas because the Tsilhqot’in Chiefs camped and traveled in many areas throughout the Chilcotin. RF
