Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society welcomes Emily Clearwater as new Arts Centre Administrator
The Directors and Executive Director of the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society are pleased to announce that Emily Clearwater has accepted the position of part-time Arts Centre Administrator for the Society, effective November 14th 2018.
Emily hails from New Zealand, and moved to Williams Lake in 2017. She is a professional engineer and specialised in geothermal reservoir modeling. However, since moving to Canada she has been pursuing other interests; Emily is president of the Williams Lake Climbing Association, a member of Quintet Plus choir, and a member of the Williams Lake Spinners, Weavers and Fibre Artists’ Guild. Alongside her enthusiasm for the local arts and culture scene, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and learning about her new home.
Emily is looking forward to assisting Central Cariboo Arts Centre users, increasing use of the Arts Centre, and helping the creatives in her community thrive!
In announcing the appointment, Board Chair Jane Perry said, “Emily is already well-established in our community through her efforts to get involved, learn, take on roles and lead. She is a perfect fit as Arts Centre Administrator, and we are delighted to have Emily on staff.”
Executive Director Leah Selk also notes her excitement to have Emily join the team, and is inspired by Emily’s excitement and eagerness to weave herself into the fabric of the Arts Centre and the broader arts community. “Brandon Hoffman, prior Arts Centre Administrator, helped us to establish the Arts Centre as a bustling hub of arts and culture activities, and I am excited to see where Emily will take it next,” said Leah.
Emily will be maintaining regular part-time hours at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre. Please call or stop in on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm, and Thursdays from 12pm to 5pm for any Arts Centre inquiries, bookings, and visits. She looks forward to assisting you!
