The 100 Mile House Wranglers will be facing off against the Kamloops Chiefs on January 11th with a start time of 7:00pm.  You can come out and cheer them on at the South Cariboo Rec Centre.

The 100 Mile House Branch Library Presents:  Saturday songs and Stories, a story time for families with children under 5, but older siblings are welcome.  You can join them in the 100 Mile House Library Program Room, Saturdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Bring your library card.

Butterfly Brushes is a fundraiser for 100 Mile Hospice.  The workshop will be led by artist Kim Johnston.  The cost is $35 per person which includes all (paint) supplies.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase.  Get tickets by calling the 100 Mile Hospice office at 250.395.7680 or at the Donex Pharmacy Service Counter.  The event will take place at the 108 Steak House Bar from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, January 13th.

Eclectica Community Choir is having their registration for the 2020 winter/spring season on January 15th at the United Church, 169 Dogwood Cres from 6:30 – 7:00 pm with a rehearsal to follow from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The registration fee is $30.00 per person.  For more information contact Barbara Hooper at 250.397.2980.

Spaghetti Social on January 17th from 5:00 to 7:30 (Dinner served until 6:30).  You can join them at St. Timothy’s Church basement on the corner of Blackstock Road and Horse Lake Road.  No need to call ahead, just show up!  They will be serving Spaghetti – Ceasar Salad – Garlic Bread and Desserts.  A vegetarian option is available.  There will be music and a free store.  This event is sponsored by St. Timothy’s Anglican Church & Stemete7uw’I Friendship Centre.  For more information you can call 250.706.0385.

Parkside Art Gallery 1st show of the year will Begin on February 1st and will have an opening reception from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  The show will be called “Love Cariboo Winter” This is to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Gallery.  This show is going to be completely focused on OUR LOVE OF WINTER.  The Gallery is asking the public to create images of WINTER to line the walls of the gallery.  Whether you are an artist or not.  This is your chance to illustrate, paint, sculpt, photograph, knit, write or otherwise represent winter for the show.  Artwork can be done in any style from detailed to abstract as long as you identify the activity that you are illustrating.  Here’s how to get involved – send an email to Parkside saying you’d like to take part and what medium you plan to use and your winter activity.  Completed artwork can be dropped off from Tuesday, January 14th until Wednesday, January 29th.  Artwork does not need to be framed and hanging will be quite casual; push pins will be employed for artwork on paper for instance, so if you value your work, make sure it is protectively frame and ready for hanging.  If you wish to sell your art you will require a membership to the gallery ($15) but if you wish not to sell there is no entry fee.

The South Cariboo Rec Centre has added new Dance Classes.  There is now Boys Street Jazz Dance Classes on Saturdays at 10:00am and Adult Ballet is being offered on Thursdays, January 16th to March 12th from 7:15pm to 8:15pm.  For more information or to register call The South Cariboo Rec Centre at 250.395.1353.

The 100 Mile Festival of the Arts is putting on “Let it Snow” a recital of music, song and speech.  Admission is by donation.  Students are asked for please pre-register with Ginny-Lou Alexander at 250.395.3555. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  You can joint them at the 100 Mile United Church at 169 Dogwood Crescent North at 2:30 on January 19th.
