Instead, she joins a group of women “computers,” charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who calculates projects in “girl hours” and has no time for the women’s probing theories. As Henrietta, in her free time, attempts to measure the light and distance of stars, she must also take measure of her life on Earth, trying to balance her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of love.”Production Dates: March 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 with matinees on the 7th and 14th.

One Day in the Life of Noah Piugattuk at  6:30pm to 8:30pm. Directed by Zacharias Kunuk (The Fast Runner), this film depicts an encounter between Inuit camp leader Noah Piugattuk and an Indian Agent who visits one spring afternoon in 1961 to pressure them to give up their traditional way of life and relocate to the government settlement of Igloolik, in what is now Nunavut. In this one day – and this fateful meeting – Kunuk condenses much about Inuit-settler relations. The emotional and historical layers in the film make it one of his finest works.
