Ice Dye Workshop

Friday Oct 9 & Oct. 23

In this class you will learn about Fibre Content and why it is important; the many different types of textile dyes; explore basic color theory; how to dye fabrics using eco-friendly low water immersion techniques, and explore different ways to manipulate fabrics to make patterns. Pre-Booking is required

Tie-Dye Workshop for Kids

Saturday Oct 10 & Oct. 24

375 Reid St 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

This is a fun beginner class designed to teach you the basics of textile dyeing. Kids will be shown 4 to 5 different tie dye techniques, learn the basics of color mixing, and will have an opportunity to create their own wearable art. Included in the workshop is one pillowcase and one t-shirt and all you’ll need to bring up to 2 additional items. Pre-Booking is Required, suitable for children 8 years+ and space is limited to 6 + adult Cost: $65.00 per person

 

Ladies Bike Maintenance Clinic         

Wednesday, October 14

On Line 6:00 PM – 8 PM

John C. will be teaching a 2 hour clinic on bike maintenance. This will be a women’s only event so that you can ask all the questions. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as this is 100% hands on, but you will leave this clinic feeling confident and competent to deal with your next trail side mechanical.  $20 donated to GRCC Trail Maintenance. If you’re 12 – 18 and looking for real adventure then this is for you! The Canadian Cadet Organizations develop skills that will help you transition into adulthood, from good citizenship, leadership, and physical fitness. Cadets have experiences that you don’t find anywhere else. Simply go on line to register.

Foster Care Volunteers Required

Foster care volunteers are guardian angels to SPCA animals in need. Whether injured, abandoned, or underage, foster care volunteers save lives. At times the shelter is full while animals wait for their forever home, this is where you could make a difference.
