Ice Dye Workshop

Friday Oct 9 & Oct. 23

In this class you will learn about Fibre Content and why it is important; the many different types of textile dyes; explore basic color theory; how to dye fabrics using eco-friendly low water immersion techniques, and explore different ways to manipulate fabrics to make patterns. Pre-Booking is required

Tie-Dye Workshop for Kids

Saturday Oct 10 & Oct. 24

375 Reid St 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Kids will be shown 4 to 5 different tie dye techniques, learn the basics of color mixing, and will have an opportunity to create their own wearable art. Included in the workshop is one pillowcase and one t-shirt and all you’ll need to bring up to 2 additional items. Pre-Booking is Required, suitable for children 8 years+ and space is limited to 6 + adult Cost: $65.00 per person

 

Youth Lounge

The Quesnel Youth Lounge is in full swing and offering a variety of activities!  Check out their Facebook page for what’s coming up then head to their website ( youthlounge.ca )  to get registered. They’ll even give you a ride if you have no way of getting there!

 

Fat Quarter Quilt Class

R & R Sewing  10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

9 fat quarters plus border and background fabric will make this unique quilt. Great for beginners or just to whip a quilt together for that special person.

 

Intro to Portraits in Oil              

Mon. Oct. 26 & Tues. Oct. 27

Complete a portrait from your own photograph in this intro to portraits workshop. Each day, you will be stepped through your work. Lightning Creek Ski Club AGM and  Ski Swap            

Friday Oct. 23

Quesnel Youth Soccer 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

The AGM portion is from 5:30 until 6:30. The ski swap and registration will go from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.

All Covid-19 protocols will be practiced. There will also be a sign in and sign out to control the

numbers.

 

Barkerville’s Trick or Treat

Barkerville 12:00 PM –  2:00 PM

Want a safe way to celebrate Halloween this year? Come and trick or treat with us! Each ticket includes:
general admission to Barkerville for two hours, a hot dog and beverage and a dozen trick or treat stations with our historical interpreters. Don’t expect any old run-of-the-mill Halloween candy; instead, look for candied apples and other hand-made treats!

Admission tickets are required for all participants regardless of age. Yes, it’s for adults too.  Barkerville is an outdoor environment, so bundle up! October can be quite chilly.

 

Cariboo Keepsakes Spooky Yard

This year Halloween is coming with so many changes for parents and kids. We want to make this day special. We will – with the measurements of social distancing in place – open our yard to give you the opportunity to have your kids picture taken in our spooky photo booth. We will also give out small candy bags. Face masks are mandatory.

 

Halloween Extravaganza!

Parkland Recreation Commission is doing things a little different this year as we will be hosting our Halloween event at Kostas Cove. Come by and trick or treat by the lake or see how fearless you really are through our Haunted Trail!  Fireworks will start at 9:00PM.

 

Candy Grab  

Saturday  Oct. 31

Maple Park Alliance Church  6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

We want to provide an alternative for families who aren’t sure about door to door trick or treating or have family members who are wanting to practice a more socially distant trick or treat. All of our candy will be pre-packaged by our volunteers and will be available to you in a plastic bag.

 

Bouchie Lake Fireworks

Bouchie Lake Hall  7:00 PM

In collaboration with the Community Association, Recreation Commission and Fire Department, Bouchie Lake is hosting an amazing fireworks show on Halloween night!
