Archers came from all over the province to test their skills at Big Horn Archery’s 3-D shoot this weekend. Archers of all ages came from William’s Lake, Quesnel, Vanderhoof, Oliver, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Clearwater, Vancouver, Seventy Mile, Lac La Hache. Even a man from Germany showed up for his first Indoor shoot.
6 kids that were under 7 years old competed in this years 3-D shoot as well. Denise Swift, secretary for the local club said “It was great to see the kids coming out to participate in the shoot this year. It was a very successful shoot with 106 archers participating over the two day event.”
The 3-D shoot was sponsored by 100 Mile House A & W; they looked after the costs to use the Stan Halcro arena for the weekend. Timber Mart 100 Mile House donated some lumber for the targets and Jeff Betke from Bow Sinister Archery Centre in Kamloops, generously donated some great prizes for the weekend. Special thank you to Performance All-Terrain for doing the maintenance on the arena lighting and for the use of the scissor lift.
Club President Allen Pickering said, “The weekend went very well; a better turnout than last year! Pickering also said “I would really like to thank all our sponsors and the volunteers that worked very hard to make this years event so successful. This event wouldn’t be possible without the support we get from the community.”
