On the morning of October 3rd, the BC Coroner Service along with 100 Mile House RCMP and other support units attended to the Stokes Road address to continue working on the reported investigation. On October 2nd,  a male, believed to be the resident of that address, was located by neighbours outside his residence deceased. There was some damage to the remains caused by animals, so the local BC Conservation Officers assisted with the investigation to identify possible animals involved in case there was a further risk to the public. After this consultation was completed, there is not believed to be any risk to the public associated with this file.

The major crimes portion of the investigation has been stood down at this time and the 100 Mile House RCMP will continue to support the BC Coroner Service with their investigation. Although firm identification is not yet possible and is still being investigated by the Coroner’s office, family members of the male associated to the address have been notified and updated with the current results of the investigation. 100 Mile House RCMP offers our condolences to the family.

Any further updates will be completed by the BC Coroner’s Service.
