A Lone Butte Garage Sale is happening on April 6th at the Lone Butte Community Hall and the South Cariboo Equestrian Association is hosting a tack sale at the Lone Butte hall on April 14th. For more information on both events contact Carmen Dykstra at 604-862-2379.

On April 12th the 100 Mile Legion will be hosting a Spring Fling Dinner & Dance! Dinner is at 6:30pm and will be ribs! the Dance will start at 8pm with music by Mark Allen. On April 26th we will see a lot of action around town! Arrests will be made of local citizens for various charges for the second annual Grad Jail & Bail Fundraiser! Do you know someone that has an office infraction… maybe takes the last bagel or leaves a table spoon of coffee in the coffee pot? The next business walk is schedule for May 1st. The District of 100 Mile House, Province of BC and the South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce will be conducting the annual business walk in 100 Mile House from 9am – 12pm. Businesses, be prepared for volunteers to visit your business this day. Business walks are conducted across the province to measure business success and address needs and issues of local business.  

The South Cariboo Rec Centre is gearing up for their best Cariboo Women’s Fair! The event is on May 3rd and 4th. Friday night is lady’s night only wine and cheese party from 5:pm-9:pm. Tickets are $10 and only 19 years of age or older! Live entertainment is provided! On Saturday the vendors look forward to seeing the whole community as the event is open to all! With entertainment, wellness talk and over 50 vendors you won’t want to miss it. The Fair is open 10:am to 3:pm on the Saturday.

On Saturday May 4th you can attend the 108 Heritage Site GHOST HUNT. Start time is 8pm sharp with registration beginning at 7:30pm. The Ghost Hunts are a fundraiser for the 108 Historical Society and the cost is $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Museum House the night of the Investigation. The Age Friendly Society is teaming up with the Alzheimer Society of BC on May 16th at the Creekside Seniors Centre from 1-4pm. This session is for caregivers to help them with Understanding Communication & Behavior, finding ways to decrease the occurrence if behaviors that concern us and responding in supportive ways. The session is free to attend but pre-registration is required by calling 1-800-886-6946. 

The South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 3rd Annual South Cariboo Summer Festival. The event will be on August 10th and 11th at the South Cariboo Rec Centre and Grounds. There will be a huge kid’s zone, entertainment, trade fair, food vendors, petting zoo and much more. We are really excited to have singer song writer Maddison Olds with her band Bees and the Bare Bones perform at the festival this year.
