(Kamloops) Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo NDP riding president Bill Sundhu announced this morning that federal candidate Gina Myhill-Jones has stepped down.

“This morning Ms. Myhill-Jones let me know that she was stepping down as our candidate in this fall’s federal election” said Sundhu. “Gina has resigned for personal reasons.”

Myhill-Jones was nominated on May 26 and has been actively campaigning throughout the riding said Sundhu.  “We are grateful to Gina for the work she has undertaken in the riding” said Sundhu. “Gina will continue to work with the campaign to elect an NDP candidate here.” The search for a candidate is underway.

“My decision is personal and in no way political, I still stand firm with Jagmeet and the NDP, fighting for all Canadians and a prosperous new Canada. I will help with the campaign as I am able, fighting for our communities. I have enjoyed the company and support of a fabulous team and Party and will offer the same to the next candidate to take on the role.” Gina Myhill-Jones.
