On the evening of February 5th, 2019 Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at Red Tomatoe Pies. A female entered the store and stole the tips jar. Employees attempted to stop the suspect female, who then assaulted the employees with Bear Spray. The suspect female was followed to a residence and the police were advised. Williams Lake RCMP responded and surrounded the residence, shortly thereafter the female, who is well known to the police, came out and surrendered.
The tip jar was returned to the owners. All employees affected by the bear spray were decontaminated at hospital and suffered only minor injuries. Charges of robbery are being recommended for the 20 year old local female.
