Celebrate 100 Mile House’s Candy Cane Lane initiative. Businesses are encouraged to decorate their stores and light up 100 Mile House to get people to into Christmas spirit and shopping locally. The public is encouraged to go to the Free Press Facebook page and nominate businesses with most festive decorations. Prizes for the top three decorated businesses while participants will be in entered into a draw for the gift basket. Now until Christmas.

The 108 Mile Ranch Community Association is hosting an Outdoor Christmas Market
108 Community Hall on Sunday December 13 and 20th from 12-3.
Vendor space by donation, free admission with all the covid-19 precautions like sign-in sheet also wearing a nose and mouth covering is mandatory.
On the 20th we will have Santa Claus visiting in the fire truck so parents can take pictures. We will also hand out goodie bags only that day.

Winter Treasures 2020 – The Horse Lake Community Farm Coop
Will be holding an online silent auction from Dec 1 to 15 as an alternative to its traditional winter fundraiser that has been cancelled due to Covid-19. Donations up for auction include beef, hay, vegetables, a two night stat a summer cabin and knitted hats and jewelry.

Coats for All 2020 – Give warmth to others and get a warm feeling yourself. Drop off used winter coats, snowsuits, toques, mitts, and scarves to the 100 Mile Laundromat (located in Owen Square across from the Library) between November 1st and November 30th only. If possible please wash them before donating and label as “washed” Clothing will be available to people in need from November 5th to November 30th at; Loaves and Fishes – 100 Mile Food Bank – Stemete7uw’I Friendship Centre – Canim Lake and Canoe Creek Bands. Also on Saturday November 14th and 28th only, from 10:00am to 1:00 pm, warm winter outerwear will be available to anyone, at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church (corner of Horse Lake Road and Blackstock Road) to help working people and families who do not normally go to the distribution sites.
