Parkside Art Gallery presents – Our Love of Winter – To Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Gallery they are showcasing the works of community contributors. The Artwork is in all styles from detailed to abstract, in any medium you can think of – illustration, paint, sculpt, photograph, knit, write or otherwise represent winter. Come on out and take a look at the creativity offered up by our very own community members.
Spaghetti Social on February 21st from 5:00 to 7:30 (Dinner served until 6:30). You can join them at the St. Timothy’s in the Church basement on the corner of Blackstock Road and Horse Lake Road. No need to call ahead, just show up! They will be serving Spaghetti – Ceasar Salad – Garlic Bread and Desserts. A vegetarian option is available. There will be music and a free store. Crib Tournament – The next Lac la Hache OAPO #176 Crib Tournament is coming up on Saturday, February 22nd. The entry fee is $15 which include a spaghetti lunch and cash prizes. South Cariboo Craft Swap – Saturday, February 22nd from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at 7021 93 Mile Frontage Rd. Join us for an afternoon of crafting fun! Bring supplies you want to donate to the community and take what you need! Everything is free! Drop donated materials off between 12pm-1pm. They will have tables designated for specific supplies (fabric, yarn, paper crafts, beading, etc…), and a comfortable sitting area where you can sit and work on a project while visiting with other crafters from the South Cariboo community. ❤️
Free Family Skate is on Sunday, February 23rd at the South Cariboo Rec Centre from 1:15 to 2:45. This skate is sponsored by 100 Mile Realty/Royal Lapage.
SD27 Digital Citizenship – Parent Information Sessions, Wednesday February 27th at 6:30 in the gym and PSO. – Social Media Awareness, Digital Footprints, and Cyberbullying. Your child as now entered into their digital media lives, where cell phone ownership doubles, video game use explodes, and they dive into the world of social media and hyper-texting. Your child is rapidly developing their personal identity with cell phone in hand and you need to be prepared. Family rules, parental controls and developing a family tech plan will be outlines as well as recommendations for monitoring your teen’s digital life.
The next Age Friendly Event is on Thursday, February 27th from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the Creekside Seniors Centre – 501 Cedar Avenue – South of the former 100 Mile Junior High. Are you interested in learning more about the Mediterranean diet as a guide for healthy eating? This event is presented by Dr. Katie DeGroot – Naturopathic Doctor. Everyone is welcome! Pancake Supper, February 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at – St. Timothy’s Anglican Church is holding their annual “Shrove Tuesday” pancake supper with pancakes, sausages, ice cream, tea and coffee. The supper is by donation to the World Relief Development Fund. Please come and join even if you cannot afford a donation. For more information contact Jenny at 250.395.2734. 100 Mile Performing Arts Society’s Production of Disney – The Little Mermaid will have its Gala Opening on February 26th – doors open at 6:00 pm the Curtain goes up at 7:00 pm. There will be Evening showings on February 27, 28, 29th and March 4, 5, 6, and 7th. For Evening showings, the doors will open at 6:30 with the curtain going up at 7:00. Matinee Shows will be offered on February 29th and March 7th with doors opening at 12:30 and the curtain going up at 1:00. All tickets are $20.00. You can get your tickets at Didi’s and Donex.
Youth Art Show at Raven! You are invited to the Youth Art Show at Raven 372 Taylor Way. You can join them on Friday, February 28th at the Raven Youth Activity Centre from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Leapin’ Lotta Fun! Dinner/Auction Fundraiser is on Saturday, February 29th at the 100 Mile Community Hall. Doors open at 5:30 pm, Dinner at 6:30 pm, auction to follow. Just a reminder to get your tickets early as this very popular event regularly sells out! Tickets are $40 per person and are available at Donex, and LifeCycle Financial. This is a charity Fundraising Event Supporting Wetland Conservation.
Join the 108 Lions for their 1st Annual Sadie Hawkins Spaghetti Dinner & Dance on February 29th at the 108 Mile Community Hall. Doors open at 5:30 pm, Dinner will be served at 6:15 pm. There will be live music by: Riding Shotgun. Tickets are $20.00 per person and they are available at the 108 Mile supermarket, Mary’s Country Kitchen, and at Donex.

South Cariboo Minor Softball Association Registration Day!
Good Morning! It’s that time of year again! Minor softball registration forms are now available at the Canlan office (South Cariboo Rec Centre), as well as a printable pdf link below. Registration forms and fees can be given to the Canlan office or brought in on registration day.
Early registration Feb 3 – Feb 29
Regular registration March 1- April 30 (last day to register)
Registration day at Canlan Feb 29 (more information to come).
This season will run from May 4 until June 26.
A reminder to pick up CRD Rec Pass numbers from Canlan and have a Softball BC Lifetime Membership number for the forms, your child can’t play without these.
A link to the Softball BC Lifetime Membership will be posted below. For those that don’t have this, it is a $10 lifetime fee.
