Lac La Hache Fire Chief Terry Murphy was pleasantly surprised when he stopped in at the Lac La Hache Food Mart to pay the fuel bill for the fire trucks. Owner Ann Lehto handed the Chief the bill with a big $0 amount on it.
Ann wanted to make a donation to the LLHVFD for their amazing service to the community and for being ready to answer the call out during these trying times.
The generous donation was $450 to the fire hall! Chief Murphy said he was completely taken by surprise when Ann handed him the bill with a zero balance.
“I was expecting to pay our fuel bill like we do all the time, I was quite moved by her generosity” said Murphy. The LLH Volunteer Fire Department has had two fire practices since the COVID-19 lock-down took place in March.
“We have to practice a little differently since social distancing has come into play, but we’re glad to be able to get together and sharpen our skills and be ready for a call out.” Chief Murphy “We would like to thank Ann and her staff for staying open and supporting the Lac La Hache area and for the donation that will be used for training and travel cost.”
