The 35+ Old Timers Hockey League wrapped up their season last Saturday, March 7th at the Rolf Zeis Memorial Arena in Lac La Hache. The leagues playoff consolation game took place at 1:00 pm with Sunrise Ford coming out on top with a 7 to 4 win over Timber Mart. The final championship game was slotted for 2:15 pm showcasing 100 Mile New & Used vs Rona Interlakes. 100 Mile New & Used took the win 3-0 and was named league and playoff champions. The day wrapped up with the year end dinner/ banquet and awards night which was held at the Lac La Hache Community Hall. Award winners for the night were the following: 1) MVP – Tyler Earl 2) Best Defence – Steve Macintosh 3) Best Forward – Rob Kielman 4) Most Sportsmanlike – Matt Giroday 5) Most Improved – Lori Forster 6) Best Goalie – Brian Green. Regular season and playoff stats: 1st Place – 100 Mile New & Used 2nd Place – Rona Interlakes 3rd Place – Sunrise Ford and 4th Place – Timber Mart. The evening also acknowledged the retirement of 3 executive members. Phil Doddridge, Ron Graves and Tom Lund. Accolades to Tom Lund as he spearheaded the organization of the league 16 years ago.
