Starting Oct. 15, 2018 BC Wildfire Service crews are planning to burn piles of woody debris near Fox
Mountain. This will take place over the next four weeks.
Smoke and flames may be visible from Williams Lake and surrounding communities.
Cariboo Fire Centre personnel have piled up the accumulated woody debris and will be burning
the piles. This is a part of an ongoing fuel management project to reduce wildfire risks in the area.
By removing this material, less fuel will be available to burn in the event of a wildfire.
BC Wildfire Service personnel will be on site with firefighting equipment.

All Category 3 open fires must comply with the Environmental Management Act and the Open
Burning Smoke Control Regulation. This helps minimize the amount of smoke generated.
