It is time for the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive. The website is bctfooddrive.org
Sometime between Wednesday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, September 18, empty bags with notices will be placed on the doors of homes in 100 Mile, 108 Mile, Grey Crescent, and 103 Mile.
The notices will request donations of non-perishable food be placed in the bag and then placed in a visible location on their doorstep or porch before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22.
Volunteers will be out between 9:30 a.m. and noon on Sept. 22 to collect the food and take it to the local food bank.
Unfortunately, we do not have enough volunteers to cover all of the homes in the area so only homes which received notices will be checked for food donations but anyone can donate by taking items to the drop off locations during the week or directly to the food bank on Saturday morning.
Drop boxes are available at 100 Mile Chiropractic and Massage (#7 – 95B Hwy 97) and 100 Mile Vision Care (475 Birch Ave.).
If anyone would like to volunteer to help with the food drive or if more information is needed contact Anita at 250-706-7763.
