The owner of the dogs has come forward and is cooperating with Police. 100 Mile House RCMP appreciate the information that was brought forward by the public regarding this unfortunate event. The remains of the animals have been turned over to the owner as per their request.

On November 15th 2020 at 01:21 AM, 100 Mile House RCMP were called to the 4000 block of Chuckwagon Trail in Forest Grove BC for a report of dangerous dogs attacking livestock and charging at a homeowner. The dogs were described as extremely large American Staffordshire Terriers (commonly called Pitbulls)_ – one brown in colour and the other tan – and estimated to weigh over 100 lbs each.
The complainant had called Police after hearing his chickens being attacked and had gone to investigate, at which point he had been charged by the two dogs who were actively killing birds in their coup. The complainant ended up nearly being trapped by the animals at certain times as they continued their attempts to get at him and his other animals on the property. There were also small children in the residence. Fortunately, the owner was not hurt during the incident.
Police attended the area and remained on over-watch as an attempt to locate the owner to help control the animals was made, but no owner was located or would take ownership of the two terriers. Members continued to observe the dogs aggressively, seeking out the remaining livestock and also trying to gain access to a small barn which housed more animals. Having no other options, Police destroyed the two animals. Both animals were seized to examine further in an attempt to identify an owner, but so far the results have been negative.
