Saturday February 16th

Sweetheart Ride starting at 8:00am from the Caribou River Bridge turn off for a Loop Ride to Ghost Lake and return (route is approximately 125 – 140 kms round trip). You will need to pack fuel and your lunch. We are meeting at the Caribou River Bridge at 8:00 am and hoping to get riding by 8:30 am. Sweetheart Cup for The Williams Lake Men’s and Women’s Soccer leagues are combining to host the annual 5 vs 5 Sweetheart cup Co-ed soccer tournament at Lake City Secondary School Columneetza campus. Social is slated to take place at Boston Pizza on Saturday evening.

 

 

Sunday February 17th

Family Day Weekend Appreciation starting at 8:00am in Yank’s Peak Parking Lot after a day of riding they will be holding a barbeque.

 

Great Backyard Bird Count 1:00pm -3:00pm

Learn to identify those fascinating feather visitors with local birding expert Cathy Koot and Environmental Educators Kim Zalay and Bill Gilroy ID introduction with frozen and stuffed specimens to compare with bird books, Count birds at the Nature house feeders and play a game to learn about the different types of beaks that birds have.

 

 

Tuesday February 19th

The Williams Lake Wanderers starts at 9:15am. The Williams Lake Wanderers meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Cariboo Memorial Complex parking lot at 9:15 am. Today they will be heading out to Doc English Lake snowshoe.

 

 

Wednesday February 20th

Public Open House at City Hall from 4:00pm. This open house is to discuss the proposed Heritage Park on the City owned Stampede grounds. Intended to enhance public use and enjoyment of the Stampede Grounds, the Heritage park will house the popular 153 Mile Store. Focused on displaying Gold-Trail, First Nation and Ranching histories of the Cariboo, the plans provide opportunity for a heritage village for outdoor public events and future cultural spaces.

 

The Williams Lake Wanderers 10:00am. Cow Trails snow is the adventure today, if you are interested in joining them please meet at the Cariboo Memorial Complex.
