On October 10, 2019 at approximately 3:20 pm 100 Mile House RCMP was notified of a collision on Taylor Way in 100 Mile House involving a pick up truck and a bicycle. BC Ambulance, 100 Mile
House Fire Rescue and RCMP attended the scene. It was found a 12 year old youth was riding his bike on a cross walk from Hwy 97 onto Taylor Way when he was stuck by the southbound truck.

The youth was wearing a helmet and suffered minor injuries. The driver remained on scene and has cooperated with the investigation. The youth was transported by ambulance to 100 Mile House Hospital for further assessment. The driver was issued a violation ticket on scene as there was no criminal intent. This is an example of the importance of wearing helmets while biking, being aware of your surrounding and ensuring cross walks are cleared before driving through.
