Parkside Art Gallery presents the works of Helen Kellington – From Architect to Artist. Today is your last chance to catch this exhibit. Parkside is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 – 4 and on Saturday 10 – 3 at the corner of 4th and Cedar. Next week ‘We die’ will be opening, featuring the works of Anita Edwards, Barb Brown and Claudia Ring. There will be an opening reception for this exhibit on October 11th from 5 – 7pm
Cariboo Regional District Library Presents: Saturday Songs and Stories, a story-time for families with children under 5, but older siblings are welcome. You can join them in the 100 Mile house library program room, Saturdays from 10 to 11 am. Bring your library card.
The South Cariboo Theatre has recognized the economic concerns with mill closures and cutbacks and has restructured their prices to try to make a night out a little easier. Effective immediately kids prices for children 12 years old and under are $6.00 for regular movies and $8.00 for 3D movies.

Iron Horse Pub Chili Cook-Off
Join the Iron Horse Pub on Sunday October 6th for our Chili Cook-Off . There’s still time to register and you can enter as a group our individual. Chili Cook-Off Registration is $25 Door Prizes-50/50 Draw, Music, Fire-Pit to keep warm Cash Prizes for first, second place and people’s choice! A walk-through Chili Alley Taste Testing $10 Your chili must be cooked on site without electricity. Bring your tent, ingredients, table, BBQ and anything you need to get inspired, be creative and spend a fun filled day outside. Create a theme and have fun! Set up at 9:am, serving chili @ 12:30pm and Judging at 2:30pm Chili testing spectators and participants will be able to walk through and taste test all the special creations! The 5th Annual Oktoberfest, hosted by the 108 Mile Ranch Lions Club is taking place on October 5th at the 108 Mile Community Centre. Come and enjoy German Food, Fun, Games, Beer from Jackson’s, Pretzel and desert from LacLaHache bakery – Music by the South Tyroleans’s Yodel Duo – tickets for sale at Donex, 108 supermarket and the LacLaHache bakering. Tickets are $25. There will be no tickets for sale at the door. Last day to pick up tickets is October 4th before 12 noon. Dress up! The best costume will be chosen. The All Candidates Forum 100 Mile House for the Federal Election is being held at the Valley Room on Wednesday, October 9th at 6pm. That is at 98B Cecil Place – behind the Red Coach In.
